Privacy Notice

Effective October 19, 2026

The short version: we collect only what we need to run Unpanels, we never sell your information, and we never share your phone number for marketing.

Who we are

Unpanels is run by VODPOD MEDIA LLC, a Texas company ("we", "us"). Questions or requests: gylon@vodpodmedia.com.

What we collect

• Waiting list: your name, email, organization and, if you tell us, what you're planning.
• The demo on our site: the vote and word you send. They aren't linked to your name.
• If you run shows with Unpanels: your account details and the content you add (show names, questions, panelist names and photos, documents, logos). Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• If you're in the audience: an anonymous ID kept on your phone, your votes, answers and questions, and anything you choose to give, such as your first name, company or email for the show notes.
• Audio: if the organizer turns on the recorder, the room's audio is turned into a written transcript to create show notes. The organizer decides whether to record and should tell the room; while it runs, the screen and every phone say so.
• Text messages: if you opt in, your mobile number and the messages we exchange.
• Basic technical data: things like your IP address, browser and device, and simple logs that keep the service working and secure. We use only the cookies and on-device storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your place in a show. No advertising trackers.

How we use it

• To run Unpanels and the shows you create or join.
• To send what you asked for: early-access news, receipts, show notes, account messages and texts you opted into.
• To support you, keep the service secure, prevent abuse and improve it.
• To meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With the companies that help us run Unpanels, only to do that job: hosting (Vercel), our database (Neon), sign-in (Clerk), email (Postmark), payments (Stripe), and Ai providers that help write questions and transcribe audio.
• With the organizer of a show you join, for the answers, questions and details you give in their show. For that information, we act on the organizer's behalf under our Data Processing Agreement.
• When the law requires it, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
• If our business is sold or merged, with the new owner, under this same notice.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Waiting-list details stay until you ask us to remove them. Show content and audience responses stay until the organizer deletes the show or their account. Then we delete it, except what we must keep by law.

Your choices

• If you run shows, export everything in your account or delete it for good from your Account page.
• Ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing gylon@vodpodmedia.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights; we'll honor them.
• Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any email.
• Stop texts any time by replying STOP.

Keeping it safe

We use encryption in transit, access controls and trusted providers to protect your information. No system is perfect, so we can't promise absolute security, but we'll tell you if a breach affects you as the law requires.

Children

Unpanels isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top. For big changes, we'll let you know by email or on the site.
